Oliver Humpage (Violin 1)

Oliver Humpage (Violin 1)

Oliver has played violin in ensembles as varied as county Youth Orchestra, rock group, big band and University of Bristol Symphony Orchestra, and enjoys playing viola and piano as well. He has written music throughout his life (including a piece performed in Australia in their bicentenary year), and regularly writes new music for the Avanti quartet. He currently works as head of ICT at Bristol’s Watershed Media Centre. (oliver@avanti-quartet.co.uk)

Roseanna Cross (Violin 2)

Roseanna Cross (Violin 2)

Roseanna has played in a variety of orchestras in both Bristol and Cardiff (often as leader of the orchestra), has performed as a soloist (including ABRSM High Scorers’ Concerts), and has also played in numerous musical productions (including musicals, operas, and cantatas). Eleanor Pridgeon (Viola)

Ellie Pridgeon (Viola)

Ellie has played the viola with the University of Bristol Symphonia and the Keynsham Concert Orchestra. In her spare time, she teaches and lectures English Language and Art History, and is writing a part-time PhD on medieval wall painting. She also plays the oboe and the recorder. Patrick Hamilton (Cello)

Patrick Hamilton (Cello)

Patrick has played principal cellist in the West Cambridge Symphony Orchestra, and the Youth Orchestra of Surrey. During the day Patrick is a researcher in the Biology Department at the University of Bristol, and occasionally does biology tuition for students. He lives with Linda (his girlfriend), a dog (Chloe) and three chickens. His interests include playing jazz and blues on the guitar and piano, and some occasional sketching.
